Meet Captain Juan Carlos Cabrera, the experienced and passionate master at the helm. With decades of sea time and a Master 500 Tons certification, Captain Juan brings a strong safety-first approach combined with a genuine hospitality mindset—ensuring every guest enjoys a smooth, private, and unforgettable experience onboard.
Specializing in yachts between 100–150 feet, Captain Juan has successfully led both private and charter vessels across the Caribbean and Bahamas. He is known for hands-on leadership, excellent crew retention, and creating a positive onboard culture through clear communication and professionalism.
Beyond navigation, he excels in planned maintenance, refit and yard management, budgeting, and efficient scheduling, making him a well-rounded captain dedicated to maintaining the vessel to the highest standards. Fluent in English and Spanish, and based in South Florida, Captain Juan is proud to lead with integrity, precision, and a commitment to excellence—perfectly aligning with the standards of SeaSpeak Yacht.

Sample one week Bahamas cruise
Embark at a private marina in Nassau (e.g., Atlantis or Hurricane Hole). Settle in with a welcome cocktail on deck while the crew prepares a gourmet dinner. Explore Nassau’s vibrant energy if desired—visit Atlantis Resort, shop in town, or relax onboard. Short optional tender trip to nearby Paradise Island beaches.
Overnight: Docked or anchored near Nassau
Morning departure across the shallow Yellow Bank (guided by your experienced captain). Arrive at Highbourne Cay, a luxurious private island with a marina, pristine beaches, and excellent snorkeling. Tender to secluded beaches, hike trails, or dine at the hilltop Xuma restaurant. Enjoy water sports in crystal-clear waters.
Overnight: Anchored or marina berth at Highbourne Cay
Short cruise north to Allen’s Cay (also known as Leaf Cay). Tender ashore to meet the famous endangered Bahamian rock iguanas—they’ll greet you on the beach! Excellent snorkeling nearby at vibrant reefs. Relax on white-sand beaches or explore by kayak/paddleboard.
Overnight: Anchored at Allen’s Cay
Easy cruise south to Norman’s Cay. Snorkel the famous sunken drug-smuggler plane wreck from the 1980s, explore mangrove creeks by tender, or beachcomb on miles of untouched sand. Visit MacDuff’s beach bar for casual lunch/drinks if open. Prime spot for jet skiing and seabob adventures.
Overnight: Anchored at Norman’s Cay
Cruise to Shroud Cay, part of the Exuma Cays Land & Sea Park (no fishing allowed—pure preservation). Tender up the mangrove “drift rivers” to hidden beaches and hilltop views. Outstanding snorkeling on coral gardens teeming with tropical fish. A serene, uninhabited paradise for full-day relaxation.
Overnight: Anchored at Shroud Cay
Return gently north to Highbourne for a relaxed day. Revisit favorite beaches, snorkel nearby reefs (e.g., the Austin Smith wreck), or indulge in onboard spa treatments/massage. Sunset cocktails on deck overlooking the turquoise expanse.
Overnight: Anchored or marina at Highbourne Cay
Morning leisure—final swim, snorkel, or beach time. Afternoon cruise back across the bank to Nassau. Arrive by early evening for a farewell dinner onboard or ashore. Disembark the following morning (or extend if desired).
